    Antique Chicago Call Boxes

I have two call boxes. One is a Chicago Fire and the other is Chicago Police. The fire one is just the box with nothing inside. The police box has a phone in it which I highly doubt is original. Just wanted to see if anybody knows about them and their value if any. Thanks.

not too sure, but they are for sure highly sought after. what ever you do dont trash em. you can contact the Chicago Fire Museum and talk to someone there maybe.

There are fire and police call boxes on ebay for about $150-$350 so maybe somewhere around there? Take it to Pawn Stars, they will offer you like $25

Nobody tells these people to sell to them. They run a business. They need to make their money. If they want to sell it to them at a low price, thats their choice.

It doesnt matter if its a resale shop, pawn broker, or an antique dealer. I do not know anybody that runs a business to not make a profit.

Like they say, its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Before the days of radios the Police and Fire departments had call boxes on the street corners throughout their beats to call in to dispatch etc.

I was just watching an episode of Pawn Stars just now and they bought a 1930s Chicago Police Call Box in decent condition, with the rotary dial phone inside for $250 from a customer. I also saw an antique Chicago Fire Call Box with nothing inside going for $350 on eBay, but nobody had bid on it yet, so I imagine it is worth a lot less than that. Hope this helps.

They have overhead, employees, taxes etc to pay. You have to factor that into the sale price. Its not pure profit.
    I got a checkbook!
